The Volkswagen brand has reached an important milestone in the development of electric mobility — the company has delivered its two-millionth fully electric vehicle to a customer.

The anniversary model was a Volkswagen ID.3 produced at the company’s plant in Zwickau. The ceremonial handover took place at the Transparent Factory in Dresden. The new vehicle was received by customer Kirsten Wormbrock.

This achievement highlights the consistent development of the brand’s electric vehicle lineup. Volkswagen began its active move toward electric mobility with the launch of the Volkswagen e-up! in 2013. Later, other models joined the lineup, including the Volkswagen e-Golf, followed by the fully electric ID. family.

Today, the total number of delivered electric vehicles includes both modern models from the ID. family and earlier electric developments of the brand.

Volkswagen continues to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market, remaining one of the key players in Europe and holding leading positions in Germany.
